📍 Knowledge Creates Innovation. Conferences Amplify It.
Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Prof. Jens Kreisel, Rector of the Universität Luxemburg, and Geraldine Knudson, Director of Communication and Marketing. I felt privileged to gain insights into the University's strategy and development, and to discuss future collaboration opportunities between the University and the Luxembourg Convention Bureau (LCB).
The University's campuses offer outstanding venues for international business events, while its faculties and interdisciplinary centres are home to renowned professors and researchers working on some of today's most important challenges in digital transformation, health and medicine, and sustainable development. At the LCB, we are committed to supporting academics and researchers in bringing international conferences to Luxembourg and creating lasting impact and legacy.
What impressed me most about Campus BELVAL was its unique transformation from an industrial site into a vibrant hub of innovation, education, research and entrepreneurship. The architecture is remarkable, but even more inspiring is the close connection between academia, research excellence and business innovation.
I look forward to strengthening our collaboration with the University of Luxembourg and with everyone who is already organising conferences and congresses in LuXembourg - Let's Make It Happen, or considering doing so in the future.
Walking through Campus Belval left me truly inspired. It is a powerful example of how a destination can transform its heritage into a platform for innovation, collaboration and international exchange.

🏛️ 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗜'𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝘂𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗴
 
Last week, #Luxembourg welcomed the 1st European Regional Conference of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), hosted by the Luxembourg Chapter of ICAI at GRIDX.
 
🌍 Bringing together 180 participants, including more than 60 international delegates from 13 countries, the conference provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration between finance professionals from across Europe and India.
 
🎉This landmark edition was made even more special as ICAI celebrates its 75th anniversary, and by the presence of His Excellency Pranay Verma, Ambassador of India to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union, as Chief Guest.
 
💬As highlighted by Dr. Bettina Bunge during her welcome address:
"In Luxembourg, we often say that we are small enough to know each other, but international enough to connect with the world."
 
Looking around the room, that spirit was clearly reflected through the diversity of participants, perspectives and connections created throughout the day.
 
👏Congratulations to the Luxembourg Chapter of ICAI on this successful first European Regional Conference and on celebrating 75 years of ICAI.

Most events would highlight the first two figures.

But perhaps the most interesting number from LUGA • Luxembourg Urban Garden is the last one.
 
Nearly a year after the exhibition transformed public spaces across #Luxembourg City and Ettelbruck, its legacy continues to be felt. Installations remain part of the urban landscape, green infrastructure has been preserved, and community initiatives launched during the event continue to benefit residents and visitors alike.
 
📊 With 363,000 international visitors and more than 15 million digital views, the numbers are impressive. Yet the most compelling part of the story is what happened after the event ended.
 
As the #BusinessEvents industry continues to explore new ways of measuring impact, LUGA 2025 offers a tangible example of how events can create value far beyond their closing day, through lasting environmental, social and urban contributions.
 
♻️This is the focus of an article published on ICCA - International Congress and Convention Association's website, “Events That Don't Shout, but Leave a Lasting Echo”, which explores how legacy can become one of the most meaningful measures of an event's success.
